TORONTO, July 10, 2015 – Factory Film Studio is thrilled to announced the signing of a multi-year, multi-film PPV and VOD distribution deal with Bell Media.

Effective immediately, Factory Film Studio will start providing content to Bell Media’s Express Vu PPV and VOD platforms and its affiliated systems.

The three year deal will allow Factory Film Studio strategic advantage when placing content within the Canadian Cable VOD market. Bell Media has a subscription base of over one million subscribers.

Factory Film Studio is pleased to announce that The Desert Fish has already been accepted by Bell Media as part of their first slate of films. Release date scheduled for August 11th 2015. Further slate announcements coming soon!

TORONTO, March 5, 2015 – Factory Film Studio is pleased to announce the appointment of Hessam Ghorbanian as the new Director of Acquisitions.

Mr. Ghorbanian is a distribution strategist specializing in the acquisition of special interest/genre films (domestic & international) for exploitation to niche audiences in North America.

Mr. Ghorbanian founded ParastooFilm Inc., a Toronto based film distribution company in 2009. He acquired and/or released internationally acclaimed foreign language films as well as Canadian feature films with Cineplex, Empire Theatre and AMC theatres in major cities across North America.

Mr. Ghorbanian also specializes in online Video-on-Demand platform exploitation and has enabled media and broadcast companies to maximize their viewership and monetization of licensed video content.

As a consultant, guest speaker and workshop leader at Humber College, LIFT, Hot Docs, he has advised filmmakers, content owners and industry professionals on best distribution practices and solutions. Mr. Ghorbanian is a former business analyst at eOne.

TORONTO, October 23, 2014 – Today Factory Film Studio announces the release of the historical documentary The Father of Hockey. This film tells the story of the

battle for ‘Hockey’s Hall of Fame’! Captain James Sutherland was a hockey pioneer who believed Kingston, Ontario could be the ‘Cooperstown’ of hockey. What he unleashed was a battle over the origins of the game and where hockey’s greats should be honoured. Eventually two “Halls of Fame” were established; one in the hockey metropolis of Toronto; the other in Kingston, Ontario. The Father of Hockey will be distributed by eOne Canada available coast-to-coast on October 28th 2014.

The Scene: An Exploration of Music in Toronto has gained wildly enthusiastic reviews from music fans both inside and outside the industry. Director Josh Jensen and co-producer Andrew Smyth; followed a trio of local rock bands as they refine their sound, promote their shows and build their careers in Toronto’s vibrant music scene. Along the way, we get insights from music legends, band managers, talent agents, radio personalities and industry experts. This period romantic comedy stars new-comer Tori Hart as Miss Biddy Bellair, Simon Callow (Shakespeare In Love, Amadeus, Four Weddings And A Funeral, SAG Best Actor Winner) as the “Author”, Carol Royle (British TV’s Doctors) as the Aunt and is narrated by Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Oscar Nominated Best Actor). Miss In Her Teens; Sir Simon Loveit, a widower, wishes to marry Miss Biddy Bellair (Tori Hart). However his son, Captain Bob Loveit (Adam Alexander), has already won her heart. Upon his return from war, Captain Bob discovers that Biddy has two other suitors, Captain Flash (Dominic Rouse) and Mr. Fribble (Matthew Butler). After coercing Flash and Fribble into a duel Miss Biddy and Tag (Emma King) watch the ensuing chaos with glee as Captain Bob chases off his rivals.
