TORONTO, February 13, 2014 – Factory Film Studio today announced the exclusive iTunes release of the revealing and entertaining The Scene: An Exploration of Music in Toronto. The film; which chronicles the lives of independent musicians as they build their careers in the Canadian music industry, will be available to purchase on iTunes in the U.S. and Canada beginning February 25, 2014.
The Scene: An Exploration of Music in Toronto has gained wildly enthusiastic reviews from music fans both inside and outside the industry. Director Josh Jensen and co-producer Andrew Smyth; followed a trio of local rock bands as they refine their sound, promote their shows and build their careers in Toronto’s vibrant music scene. Along the way, we get insights from music legends, band managers, talent agents, radio personalities and industry experts. Featured performers and interview subjects include The Ruby Spirit, Committed to Rhyme and The Alter Kakers and includes interviews with Bif Naked, Steve “Lips” Kudlow and Robb Reiner (Anvil), Dave Monks and Graham Wright (Tokyo Police Club), Rik Emmett (Triumph), Sal Costa (My Darkest Days), Joel Carriere, Liam Killeen, Barry Taylor, John Davies, Ian Bodzasi, Josh Colle, Ted Axe and Scott Lathwood and more. The film screened at the Downtown DocFest, won the Audience Award at the Canadian Film Fest and was selected for last summer’s KahBang Film Festival in Maine and last fall’s CBGB Festival in New York City.
