TORONTO, October 23, 2014 – Today Factory Film Studio announces the release of the historical documentary The Father of Hockey. This film tells the story of the battle for ‘Hockey’s Hall of Fame’!  Captain James Sutherland was a hockey pioneer who believed Kingston, Ontario could be the ‘Cooperstown’ of hockey.  What he unleashed was a battle over the origins of the game and where hockey’s greats should be honoured. Eventually two “Halls of Fame” were established; one in the hockey metropolis of Toronto; the other in Kingston, Ontario. The Father of Hockey will be distributed by eOne Canada available coast-to-coast on October 28th 2014.

Interviews include Don Cherry (Hockey Night in Canada), Phil Pritchard (“Keeper of the Stanley Cup”), Mark Potter (President of the International Hockey Hall of Fame), Bill Fitsell (Hockey Historian) Kelly McParland (National Post Columnist) and many more!

The Father of Hockey will be available on DVD at Wal-Mart, Target, HMV and released on all cable Video-On-Demand (VOD) platforms across the country including Bell, Cogeco, Eastlink, MTS, Rogers, Sasktel and Telus.
